Privacy
1. Who this policy covers. This policy covers the Peregrine Bastion website and the messages you send to the studio at 4-26-12 Ooi, Kumagaya, Saitama 360-0025, Japan. It explains what we receive when you ask about a class, a private session or one of our practice essentials, what we do with it, and what we do not do. We handle personal information in line with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). The name of the studio's operator is disclosed on request: write to info@peregrinebastion.com and we will give it to you without delay.
2. What we receive.Reading the pages of this site asks nothing of you. If you write to us by email, call +81 48-985-1905 or use the contact form, we receive what you choose to give us: usually your name, your email address, an optional phone number and your message. Some people mention an injury, a pregnancy or another health detail so that we can suggest a suitable class. That is sensitive information, so please share only what you are comfortable sharing; we use it only to answer the question you asked. We never ask for passwords, card numbers or identity documents through this website.
3. Why we use it.We use your details to reply to your question, to confirm a place in a Foundation Class, a Flow Practice or a Restorative Evening, to arrange a private session, to prepare an essentials order such as a mat or a zafu cushion, and to tell you about changes to a booking you have made. We do not send newsletters you did not ask for, we do not buy or build marketing lists, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
5. Server logs.Like most websites, this one is served by a hosting provider whose servers may keep routine logs of a request: the time, the page asked for and the visitor's IP address. These logs exist for security and for finding faults. We do not read them to identify or follow individual visitors, and we do not combine them with anything you send us.
6. Who else sees it.Messages reach us through ordinary email and, when you telephone, through the studio's phone line. Our email provider handles messages on our behalf and may store them on servers outside Japan; we choose providers that treat messages as confidential. We do not sell, rent or exchange personal information. We disclose it only where the law requires, for example in answer to a lawful request from a public authority, or when you ask us to pass something to another person.
7. How long we keep it.Enquiries that lead nowhere are deleted within twelve months of the last message. Records of a booking, a payment or an essentials order are kept for as long as we need them to run the booking and to meet bookkeeping obligations under Japanese law, which can be several years; they hold contact details and the class or item concerned, not health notes. Health details mentioned in a message are removed from our records once the question is answered, unless you ask us to keep them for your private sessions.
8. Your rights over your information.Under the APPI you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to stop using it, or to delete it. Write to info@peregrinebastion.com from the address you used before, and we will check it is you in a simple way, usually by replying to that same address. There is no fee. If we cannot do what you ask, for example because the law obliges us to keep a payment record, we will say so and explain why.
9. Security.Messages are kept in the studio's mailbox, which is protected by a password and limited to the people who answer enquiries. This website does not store what you type into its forms. We cannot promise that ordinary email is a secure channel, so please leave out anything you would not want read if a message went astray.
10. Young people. The website is written for adults. If you are under sixteen and would like to join a class, a parent or guardian should write to us first. We do not knowingly keep information from children without a parent's agreement.
11. Changes to this policy. When we change this page we change the date at the top of it. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell the people we are in touch with about an open booking by email before it takes effect.
